The goal of the game is to line up winning symbols by stopping the spinning reels one at a time.
Unlock the front door using the key provided by your retailer. This key can usually be found in the packing materials or attached to the spin handle on the machine.
Inspect the exterior for any obvious damage. Note any damage before proceeding.
Open the machine and inspect the interior for any loose wiring, packing materials, or signs of damage from shipping.
If you find any damage, save all packing materials and contact the retailer for instructions on repairs or returns.
Plug the external AC power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.
It's recommended to use a UL-approved surge protector to protect your slot machine from power surges.
Some machines have a power transformer that stays on all the time. If present, the transformer is typically located inside the cabinet near the coin hopper. Caution: Do not touch any live electrical components.
Ensure the machine’s vents remain unsealed to prevent overheating. Sealing the vents can lead to fire hazards.
Locate the payout hopper and remove it from the machine.
If it is connected to a wire harness, make sure to disconnect it before removing the hopper.
Load at least 400 tokens into the hopper for proper payout functionality.
Flip the power switch inside the machine (located on the left side) to the "ON" position.
The machine will go through a series of test procedures.
When the “INSERT MEDAL” light starts flashing, the machine is ready to play.
If the CREDIT display shows “0”, the machine is in CREDIT mode, and winnings will be added to the credit meter.
If the CREDIT display is not lit, the machine is in automatic payout mode, dispensing tokens directly from the hopper.
To switch between modes, press the CREDIT-COLLECT button while the machine is idle.
Insert 1-3 tokens into the machine:
1 token illuminates the center pay line.
2 tokens illuminate the upper and lower pay lines.
3 tokens illuminate all the pay lines.
The machine features a speed loader, allowing you to insert a stack of up to 20 tokens at once.
If the machine is in CREDIT mode, you can insert additional tokens. The machine will not show more than 50 credits on the meter.
Any tokens inserted above the 50-credit limit will be rejected and fall into the coin tray.
Pull the play handle to spin the reels. This may be a black or colored handle depending on the model.
As the reels spin, you can press the STOP buttons to stop them at any time. The buttons may light up and change colors.
If a winning combination appears, the machine will automatically pay out tokens from the hopper or credit the winnings to the credit meter.
If the CREDIT meter is empty, insert 1-3 tokens to continue playing.
If in CREDIT mode, the PLAY CREDIT button allows you to credit a payline, one at a time, based on available credits.
The machine can hold between 1-50 credits on the CREDIT meter. Any winnings exceeding this will be dispensed by the hopper.
In the event of a jackpot (such as 777 on any illuminated pay line), up to 50 credits will be added to the CREDIT meter, and the remainder will be dispensed from the hopper.
Occasionally, you may trigger a BIG CHANCE (777) or BONUS GAME combination. This guarantees a predetermined number of wins, initially paying out tokens, then continuing with several additional winning plays.
BIG CHANCE: 15 tokens plus 24 guaranteed wins in 3 rounds.
BONUS GAME: 15 tokens plus 8 guaranteed wins.
Available on select models, such as the Ward of Lights. The Challenge Game allows 1-3 tokens to be played for up to 200 consecutive spins with increased winning odds.
The Challenge Game mode cannot be reset while active. It can be turned off but will resume where it left off once powered back on.
The machine's odds can be adjusted to 6 different levels. These settings are usually visible inside the door or on the outside.
Odds Levels:
Level 1: 65-67%
Level 2: 72-74%
Level 3: 79-81%
Level 4: 88-95%
Level 5: 105-107%
Level 6: 115-125%
Enter Idle Mode: Ensure the machine is idle with no active play.
Locate the Reset Button: The reset button is often found inside the door. Press it to begin adjusting the odds.
Set the Odds: Once the odds level is displayed, press the spin handle to lock in the setting. The machine should initialize automatically, indicated by the flashing "INSERT MEDAL" light.
Some Pachislo machines feature additional reels, such as a fourth reel or LCD screens, to enhance the gaming experience. These reels often indicate when a winning combination is likely or tease players with near-wins.
For example:
4th Reel: Spins to indicate a possible win but does not affect payouts directly.
Fever Queen: The top 3 reels indicate a winning combination on the lower reels.
Las Vegas and Tom Cat: Interactive reels or LCD displays to build excitement and indicate potential big wins.
If the machine experiences an error or abnormal condition, it may "lock up" (tilt) and sound a siren. Consult the troubleshooting guide for details on resolving issues.
